We enjoy making our compress with local herbs when available.
Fernanda has been working with Arucha, an herbalist in Northern Thailand that makes these wonderful bundles for our practice, made to order.
Arucha has a disability called Neurofibromatosis type 2. Yet she works hard to create these wonderful bundles of herbs harvested from their farm with her mother. We are happy to support her while keeping these traditions alive and helping our clients feel better.
Herbs that are commonly used include turmeric, lemongrass, plai, tamarind, camper, and more.
So, what is a session like?
Imagine the combination of a full body massage with the therapeutic benefits of a steamed herbal ball. Yes, herbal poultice does not replace Hands-On bodywork but it’s used in conjunction throughout the massage as the therapist sees fit.
After the treatment, you get to take your herbal bundle home to use as desired for up to 2 weeks. You can also store it in the freezer for a later time. Some of our clients enjoy using it in the bath as well!
Have you ever had a Thai herbal poultice massage? If you haven’t, don’t miss out! Your body and mind will thank you.
